The quietest beach on the East coast

My family always goes to Ocean City, Maryland each summer. This is the only beach that my family ever vacations to sometime in the month of August. When it came around to the time of graduating from high school, our thoughts turned to senior week. There was no way I wanted or would even be allowed to go to senior week at Ocean City. Bad things happen down there during that infamous time. That's when I first heard about Stone Harbor, NJ.

My best friend's family always travels to Stone Harbor during the summertime. It is a quaint, unique little beach town in the state of New Jersey. There is no boardwalk but is filled with picturesque little shops and restaurants. The days at the beach were so quiet and soothing, which would have been the polar opposite at Ocean City. Myself and four of my friends travelled to this calm little town and returned with great memories spent at such a great place that should be more well known!

Do not go over in a barrel!

I wonder if people back in the day were just really that bored. So bored that they decided to grab a wooden barrel and climb on in. And hey? Why don't we just push ourselves over Niagra Falls while we are at it?

This is a place that I yet to have a chance to visit. I hear how amazing a sight it is when you are so close you can feel the mist on your face.

I think riding the Maid of the Mist boat would scare me a little though. Being that close to the Falls might not make me feel too safe.

Despite that, I still really want to get there sometime in my life. The pictures I see are amazing and I am sure that up close it will take your breath away.

How? Why?

First of all, have you ever been to South Dakota? I bet many Americans have never made the trek to this not so famous state in our country. One summer several years ago my family and I took a trip out West. We stopped at numerous places along the way, seeing new and unique sights. The most random and somewhat ridiculous place that we went to was called The Corn Palace. My parents had been there before when they were younger, but I had no idea what to expect.

Everything there is made out of corn! The walls are plastered with tons of ears of corn. It is heavily decorated with murals and designs made entirely out of corn. This is a popular tourist destination for many travelers every year.

I think that for many people this is just a tourist trap on the way to the more popular places out in the West. This attraction is a "once and done" thing. It is a place that a person does not need to visit more than once. Unless of course you are a corn fanatic and you enjoy that sort of thing. By all means, check out this corn capital of Mitchell, South Dakota.

Kiss Me, I'm Irish

Okay so I am not really Irish. I don't think I have any Irish in any part of my family's heritage. But, the country of Ireland is almost at the top of my list of places that I really want to visit during my lifetime. The landscapes and coasts are the most lush, green valleys that one may ever set their eyes on.

Throughout these countrysides, there are numerous castles. They seem very similar to the many that I have seen throughout my summer travels through parts of Europe. These castles are so emmense and breathtaking even when just looking at the pictures. I can only imagine how they would look in real life when you are standing right in front of one.

Of course if you visit Ireland there is one place where one should always try and go. This place is where you can kiss the infamous blarney stone. With the crazy way that the stone needs to be kissed, it seems like a "must-do" when traveling around Ireland.
